131 high-powered charging points for electric vehicles are to be installed narionwide over the coming year.
They will be at 17 locations on the motorway network, after a deal was struck with a number of private companies under a Department of Transport scheme.
They will be more expensive than home chargers, but would provide motorists with a substantial recharge in minutes.
