Gardai have closed a road following a ‘serious’ incident involving two vehicles.
Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a fatal two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a van, which occurred on the R752 at Corballis Upper, Rathdrum, at approximately 8.05am this morning.
The male driver of the motorcycle (30’s) was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the van (50’s) received treatment at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
The road is currently closed for examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), and who were travelling in the area of Corballis Upper, Rathdrum, today, Friday 3rd November between 7.30am and 8.30am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
