October was the busiest month on record for mortgage approvals.
5,200 mortgages, amounting to 1.25 billion euro, were approved, according to the Banking and Payments Federation.
The figure is up 13 per cent month-on-month and 15 per cent on the same period last year.
Almost 60 per cent of the approvals were first-time buyers.
