Information obtained by Sinn Fein’s health spokesperson Louise O’Rielly shows that from the latest data available, Hospitals collected 60-thousand euro a day in parking charges in 2017.
Cork University hospital which runs its own car park, took in €3.1 million, the highest nationwide. That’s followed by Saint Vincent’s hospital privately operated car park, which generated 2.5 Million.
Loughlinstown hospital, which is also privately operated, brought in just under €142,000, while Saint Michaels in Dun Laoghaire, which runs its own relatively small car park, brought in over €135,000.
