A 34-year-old Dublin man who was handed a life sentence for murdering his ex-girlfriend, Nadine Lott, in her apartment in Arklow has launched an appeal against his conviction.
Daniel Murtagh of of Melrose Grove, Bawnogue, Clondalkin initially claimed to have no memory of what happened to his former partner at her home in Arklow in the run up to Christmas 2019.
However, a jury returned a unanimous verdict following a two week trial and found Mr Murtagh guilty of murdering 30-year-old Nadine.
Nadine suffered sustained injuries and later died in hospital.
According to papers filed at the Court of Appeal Mr Murtagh will look to have his conviction overturned.
A full hearing date has not yet been set will the case due to be called back for mention on the 15th of July.
