A 34 year old man has been charged with the murder of mother of two Sharon Bennett in County Clare in January
Patrick Ballard of Ashford Court Hotel, Ennis had initially been charged with assault causing harm.
The 29 year old victim, who was from Wexford, died in hospital almost two weeks after the alleged attack in Ennis.
Mr Ballard was granted legal aid and will receive a psychiatric assessment in prison.
He was remanded in custody to appear in court tomorrow.
