The Marie Keating Foundation’s Mobile Health Unit will visit Dunlavin Library on Wednesday, June 19, from 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The mobile unit will be parked at Market Square, outside the library, with the public invited to learn more about cancer prevention and early detection in a friendly, confidential and accessible environment.The Marie Keating Foundation has three mobile information units that travel across Ireland to spread their life-saving messages about cancer prevention and early detection to as many people as possible. Community groups, schools, and colleges can access the service for free.
Staffed by a specialist nurse, the mobile information units visit community groups, workplaces, organisations and public places to bring cancer information straight into the heart of communities nationwide.The Marie Keating Foundation nurses offer private consultations on board the unit to address any cancer-related concerns, whether for oneself or others.
The mobile information units are stocked with take-home information leaflets and packs on the various cancers.
