Local Authorities Encouraged To Apply For Funding To Set Up Outdoor Dining Areas

Cafes and restaurants can avail of a share of €17 million fund to create an outdoor dining space in time for Summer.

Hospitality businesses can apply for up to 4 thousand euro to create or increase their outdoor dining space.

While local authorities can apply for up to 200 thousand euro to create a permanent weatherproof outdoor dining area.

Tourism Minister Catherine Martin says businesses won't be left waiting for access to the fund.

Failte Ireland CEO Paul Kelly says Ireland wants to come out of the pandemic with an improved outdoor dining offering.

The scheme will open for application on April 12th.
