Just under 228,000 people received the Pandemic Unemployment Payment this week with over 6,400 receipients here in County Wicklow.
That represents a decrease of just over 16,000 people compared to last week.
The largest reduction came from the Accomodation and Food Services sector, with over 7,000 people closing their claim.
The Government has extended the period of entry for new applicants, up to and including the 7th of July.
