Irish Water has completed a major upgrade to the historic Vartry Water Supply Scheme here in County Wicklow.

The Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien was on hand to officially open the new treatment plant this afternoon, that will secure supplies for much of the highly populated North Wicklow and South Dublin region for the coming decades.
The new plant marks the culmination of a total investment of €150 million in the upgrade of the Vartry Water Supply Scheme.
