The work is due to commence in late July 2023 and will take about six weeks to complete.
The footbridge between the platforms is set for major improvements.
Firstly the railings are to sanded down and repainted.
All of the footbridge steps are to be replaced. However the bridge will not be out of action during this time.
Cllr Stephen Stokes has also pressed for improvements to the bridge over the northern end of Greystones railway station. This connects Bow Lane and La Touche Road.
Cllr Stokes concluded: "This is an important footbridge that connects the centre of Greystones with residential areas, the South Beach, schools and more. Unfortunately when it rains, it suffers from flooding. Irish Rail have agreed to look in to the matter."
