The Irish Postmasters' Union claims up to 400 post offices are in danger of closing in 18 months' time.
According to research by Red C, 86 percent of people are in favour of the government providing financial support to keep their branches open.
Several post offices have closed throughout Wicklow in recent years, with 160 around the country shutting their doors last year.
