A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his wife, Jean Eagers.
William Eagers is also accused of producing a Samurai sword during an alleged dispute at their home at Willow Wood Grove in Hartstown.
On the morning of June 22nd, armed gardaí responded to an emergency call made by a family member of William and Jean Eagers.
They entered the house by force and arrested Mr. Eagers. Medical attention was given to his wife at the scene, but she died from her injuries.
Today, her 60 year old husband appeared in court charged with her murder.
The court heard he was also charged with producing a Samurai sword during the course of a dispute at their home on the same date.
The judge granted legal aid after hearing Mr. Eagers is a part-time taxi driver who is in receipt of the Covid-19 payment.
He was remanded in custody for a week, and the judge directed that he receive whatever medical attention he requires.
