Huge Increase In Text, E-Mail And Phone Call Fraud

There's been an 80 percent increase in text, call and email fraud over the past two years

More than 640,000 euro was reported stolen to gardaí through these means in 2020.
The most common types are claiming to be from a bank, where people are invited to click a link, and then reveal their personal details.
The oldest person to be targeted was an 88 year old who was scammed last month.
