The Health Minister, Wicklow T.D. Stephen Donnelly came in for scathing criticism yesterday during a Dail debate on a motion to annul the introduction of regulations to force pubs and restaurants to retain details of people and the meals they ordered for 28 days.
Minister Donnelly was told the poor communication and mixed messages coming from Government was damaging. Donegal TD Thomas Pringle said preventing people from attending a soccer match, but letting them meet in a pub for a meal and watch the game is senseless.
Sinn Féin’s David Cullinane accused the minister of fear mongering, by announcing we were on the cusp of a complete lock-down almost two weeks ago, and then days later saying lockdowns were not being considered for Dublin or anywhere else.
