New rules have been approved that will reduce the need for patients going to their GP for certain prescriptions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Health Minister Simon Harris has signed regulations to allow for electronic prescriptions and to extend the life of a repeat prescription from 6 to 9 months and to allow for Pharmacists to use their own judgement on occasions
Minister harris says this will help reduce the number of visits to GPs and help those self isolating to stay at home.
