Social Democrats tabling a Dail motion this week calling for an interim halt to further centres being developed - amid warnings that Ireland's electricity system is being stretched beyond capacity.

Already this month companies have been asked to reduce their usage on several occasions because of a "generation shortfall".

Wicklow TD Jennifer Whitmore says they're calling for proper planning for Data centres.
