The leader of Aontú says the government cannot shift responsibility for the failure to provide adequate housing for the travelling community onto local authorities.
In 2018 local authorities drew down just 8.6 million euro of the 13 million allocated.
Last year, more than 14 million euro was drawn down - leading to the first year in a number where the full total was spent.
However the Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien has confirmed that the situation has now changed and local authorities must now apply for the funding, But Peadar Toibin said there's a reluctance by some councils to drawing down the money
