The Government is to review and update a feasibility study on the Avoca Mines in South Wicklow.
Since 2008 more than €5 million has been spent on remediation and monitoring costs at the site.
However the study has been stalled in recent years due to a lack of funding.
Following a parliamentary question from Wicklow TD Jennifer Whitmore, Minister of State Ossian Smyth says funding has been secured to proceed with the study.
