New government figures show over 2,100 households in Wicklow were on social housing waiting lists last year.
This represents a 3% decrease on figures released in 2020.
Since the first annual assessment was conducted in 2016, just under 400 fewer households were on social housing waiting lists around the garden county.
Minister for Housing Darragh O' Brien says the government is looking to deliver over 11,800 new social homes by the end of 2022 with an investment worth four billion euro.
