It’s been confirmed that after much controversy this week about the selection process for 37 vaccination centres throughout the country, another venue has been removed from the list.
In what will be seen as a major embarrassment for the Health Minister Stephen Donnelly, Auctioneer Gabriel Dooley, who was approached by the Health Service Executive at the beginning of this month to source a suitable location for the vaccine centre in North Wicklow, confirmed to East Coast FM that the HSE says it will not now be using the Charlesland Golf Club in Greystones, because it is not suitable for its requirements. That’s despite including it, in what was regarded as a definitive list to Minister Donnelly, to unveil at a press briefing last Monday.
The golf club and the Arklow Bay hotel were listed as two venues in the garden county to act as vaccination centres.
