The fiance of a man killed in a hit and run in Dublin has thanked everyone who has supported her.

Almost 52 thousand euro has been raised since yesterday to help cover the cost of repatriating the remains of Thiago Cortes to Brazil.

Hundreds of people turned out at a vigil on Wednesday in memory of the 28 year old who died after being knocked off his bike on North Wall Quay on Monday night.

They say they face traffic, cold weather and other obstacles while making deliveries.

The car involved in the collision with the cyclist fled the scene on North Wall Quay and was discovered nearby.

Gardai and Thiago's fiance are appealing for the driver to come forward.
