This grant will help GCPR to deliver mediation, peace-building skills workshops, modules, and conferences.
The Ireland Funds, the global philanthropic network, has awarded €10,000 in funding to a charitable cause in Wicklow through its Heart of the Community Fund 2022.
Through The Ireland Funds Heart of the Community Fund 2022, Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation received support.
Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation (GCPR) works with individuals, groups and communities to transform conflict, promote reconciliation, encourage healthy relationships and build sustainable peace. It is working to become a Centre of Excellence for Practical Peacebuilding to augment its work in peacebuilding education. This grant will enable GCPR to purchase and install technical equipment to deliver mediation and practical peace-building skills workshops, modules and conferences.
Siobhán Gallagher, Executive Director of The Ireland Funds, said:
“The Ireland Funds is proud to continue to build on the success of the Heart of the Community Fund and to support Ireland’s non-profit sector, North and South, with this latest round of $1,000,000. It is our hope that these grants will impact and enhance the lives of thousands of people, changing them for the better.”
