The government's being told it needs to find a resolution after pubs and restaurants were told it's illegal to serve alcohol at outdoor seating areas.
Gardai say drinking alcohol in these areas was not permitted, unless specifically provided for in a licence, or where by-laws allowed drinking in public areas.
