Gardai Decline To Comment On Claims Of Car Chase Following Serious Shooting In Wicklow

Garda say they are anxious to speak with anyone with information that could help their investigation into a shooting incident in Wicklow early yesterday.

At around a quarter past seven yesterday morning a man was shot in the leg at the Hazelbrook Court housing estate in Rathnew
The victim, in his twenties, is being treated for serious injuries in hospital.
However Gardai have refused to comment on reports of a car chase in the Kilcoole and Newtownmountkennedy area involving several Garda vehicles and armed Gardai, which it’s claimed may be related to the shooting.

According to the Irish Independent, A suspected criminal from the Gorey area of North Wexford may be behind the attack.
