Gardaí are appealing for information on a crash on the M9 this morning.
It happened on the southbound lane between Junction 4 Castldermot and Junction 5 Carlow at around 7am.
A man in his 80s who was the driver of one of the cars was taken to hospital in a serious condition but later died.
The driver of a second car, a man in his 30s was airlifted to hospital, while a woman in her 20s who was driving a third car sustained non-life threatening injuries.
