An appeal has been launched for witnesses to a Garda shooting which left a man in his late 20s dead in Dublin yesterday.
George Nkencho was shot in a Hartstown housing estate after members of the force responded to reports of a man with a knife in a local shopping centre.
Bullets were fired from an official Garda firearm after the man made several threats and an attempt to resolve the situation with non-lethal force failed.
He was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he was pronounced dead.
