Locals have been left angered, after the head of the metal statue was cut off between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning in Parnell Park.
The head was found later by a member of the public.
The incident has been described as an act of stupid, mindless vandalism.
The original Deer statue, erected to mark the Wicklow 400 commemorative year in 2006 was stolen in 2009 and replaced.
