Transport Infrastructure Ireland has allocated €2.2 million to develop Greenway projects across the county.
€250,000 will be used to develop the planning application for the route between Arklow Train Station and Shillelagh while €1.5 million has been set aside to address increased construction costs of the Blesssington EGreenway.
The Greystones to Wicklow Town route will benefit from €200,000 which will run for approximately 20km terminating at the Murrough carpark.
The funding is part of a wider allocation worth €72 million to progress 70 projects across the country.
These include the Limerick and Waterford Greenways.
In addition, the first section of the Midleton to Youghal Greenway will open in March, with other schemes moving through planning and design stages.
Separately the funding will also see the delivery of a range of infrastructure projects across the county including
8 separate upgrades and improvement works on the N11 worth over €1,550,000 and
6 separate upgrades and improvement works on the N81 worth over €660,000
