Three and a half years are suspended, on condition the 40 year old attends all necessary medical appointments.
Brian McCann, a former resident of the addiction charity with an address in north Dublin, was handed a five year sentence in Wicklow Circuit Court today.
The 40 year old pleaded guilty to one count of harassment, one threat to kill against Mr Aubrey McCarthy, the founder of Tiglin, and one count of threatening to kill against Tiglin CEO Philip Thompson.
The court was told that the threats against the pair were of such a serious level Gardaí felt intervention was necessary.
In his victim impact statement, Senator McCarthy described the fear and heightened security measures required as a result, as well as the impact on colleagues
