Fine Gael's Parliamentary Party has been meeting for almost five hours to discuss how the party should approach government formation talks.
A number of senior party members have cautioned against going into coalition with Fianna Fáil.
But others like Tánaiste Simon Coveney have suggested a more open-minded approach given the reality of the numbers in this Dáil.
The party is expected to stay out of initial government formation negotiations headed by Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil.
