900 children in Wicklow under the age of 3 are still on waiting lists for creches.
This comes as creche services prepare to open next week after the summer break.
Only 109 creche places are available locally.
Frances Byrne, Director of policy at Early Childhood Ireland says the figures are a cause for concern.
