The number of people on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment has fallen below 150,000 for the first time.
149,000 received the payment this week, at a cost of €44 million.
Over 4,200 of those payments are to recipients here in County Wicklow.
The number is down 4,000 on last week, with Dublin, Cork and Galway accounting for the highest number of recipients.
The PUP will begin to be cut from next month as part of the government's plan to phase out the payment.
