A post-mortem examination is due to take place today on the body of an elderly woman found dead in Co Cork yesterday.
Her remains were discovered in a burnt out car in the Doneraile area at about 4.30 in the afternoon.
She was in her 70s and from north Cork.
A man was rescued from a river nearby after a Garda search, and was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. Reports says they were known to each other.
