The number of people caught drink or drug driving in Dublin during the first six months of the year was up by a quarter.
That's despite traffic volumes dropping off significantly during the Covid-19 lockdown.
However the Irish Times reports 11 of the 28 Garda divisions saw increases in detections for drink and drug driving.
In Dublin they increased by an average of 24 per cent on January to June last year.
The Roscommon/Longford and Kilkenny/Carlow divisions were among the other areas that saw a jump in arrests.
