It’s emerged that a development company acquired the 21 acre clifftop lands and access route to Magheramore Beach between Wicklow town and Brittas Bay, which sold last month.
According to the Irish Times, Paddy McKillen junior’s company Oakmount, purchased the site, outbidding Wicklow County Council and several other interested parties in an online auction on the 25th of June last.
The site had a guide price of €210,000 but finally sold for €700,000.
According to the report, future public access to the beach will be maintained.
