A Sinn Fein motion calling for an immediate, full and independent review of Bray Fire Service received unanimous support from councillors at the Bray Municipal District meeting earlier this week.
As part of the review the party wants the well being of fire fighters to be included.
It’s part of Sinn Fein’s long running campaign to secure a full time fire service for North Wicklow.
Welcoming the response from cross party members, Wicklow T.D. John Brady said it’s also important that public representatives help set the terms of reference for the report, which should use up to date data and not figures from the 2016 census. It should also look at the planned future growth of North Wicklow.
It’s now expected that the motion will be brought to the full council in the coming weeks.
