Kildare County Council says a fire at a McDonald's in Newbridge is now under control.

The fire is now under control; however the fire service activities at the scene are likely to be ongoing for the next few hours

It's believed it started after a car burst into flames in the drive-thru at around 11.30 this morning.
The flames then spread to the restaurant itself, causing significant damage.
No injuries have been reported, while residents are being urged to keep doors and windows closed.
