The Minister for Foreign Affairs is due before an Oireactas committee this morning as the controversy continues over the appointment of Katherine Zappone to a special envoy role.
Simon Coveney will answer further questions after text messages showed he offered Ms Zappone the UN job four months before it was agreed by Cabinet.
Katherine Zappone eventually declined the role following criticism over the appointment process and her hosting of a controversial event at the Merrion Hotel.
