A new study by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland has found apartments range in price from €359,000 in the suburbs to €619,000 in the city.
It highlights that a first-time buying couple would require a deposit of €38,000 and a joint income of €98,000.
However, CSO figures show just 20% of all households have earnings over €80,000, with 14% earning more than €100,000.
