A Wicklow councillor has called on the county council to consider purchasing 21 acres of land which have been put up for sale at Magerhamore Beach, between Wicklow town and Brittas Bay.
Councillor Paul O’Brien says he has written to council officials suggesting that the lands, which have been placed on the market for €210,000, could be used to provide eco-friendly parking and ensure access to the beach.
