Department of Education officials have said architectural planning is taking place for the new campus at Greystones Community College.
This includes site surveys and the preparation of planning permission.
The Department has been working closely with the vendor to expedite a planning application for the new school.
It's expected these plans will be lodged in the coming weeks.
