It’s expected building works will take up to 12 months to complete.
The former Ulster Bank building on the towns Main Street was purchased in 2017 by Wicklow County Council as the location for a new library and County Archives, after lying dormant for a number of years.
The new library is due to open to the public by late summer or early autumn next year.
