Wicklow enjoyed success last year with St Laurence O’Toole’s in Roundwood among the national winners.
Coillte has launched its third National Schools Photography Competition, inviting primary schools in Wicklow to submit a photo of their favourite tree or outdoor nature space.
The competition coincides with National Tree Week running from March 8th to 15th. It highlights the importance of trees and forests in creating a greener, more sustainable future.
Four winning schools – one from each province – will each win a class trip to Beyond the Trees Avondale in County Wicklow. Wicklow had success in last year’s competition, with St Laurence O’Toole’s National School in Roundwood among the national winners.
Schools are asked to submit a photograph along with a short explanation of why the tree or outdoor space is meaningful to them.
Entries close at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026. They can be submitted at coillte.ie/national-tree-week .
National Tree Week is organised by the Tree Council of Ireland and supported by Coillte. This year’s theme is “Growing a Greener Future Together.”
