Reports today say the Charlesland Golf Club will close permanently at the end of this year.
According to the Irish Times, the clubs owners, the Evans family have announced that the club will close on December 31st after 18 years in operation. Built on what was originally the family farm, the course opened in 1992.
The report says despite significant investment, and a successful project to increase membership, the facility still requires regular cash injections from the family and after careful consideration, the Evans have decided to close the venue.
