Councillor for West Wicklow Gerry O'Neill has criticised the recent decision that Blessington's Garda Force is to be reduced from 22 to 18.
It's been announced that Gardai numbers in Baltinglass are to be increased to 36.
Councillor O'Neill has said that Blessington's large population does not justify a reduction, especially in comparison to the population in the area.
He says that this isn't the first time reductions in the Garda force have taken place.
