Ashford native Charlie Bird has paid a visit to schoolchildren in Bray this afternoon.

The former broadcaster, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, is pressing ahead with plans to climb Croagh Patrick in April.

Despite almost losing his voice, he called on those present to make their mark on the world.
