There are fears there could be a skills shortage on Irish construction sites as UK companies are actively recruiting here.
It's believed around 2,500 people who were working in Ireland have accepted jobs there.
Six British firms are stepping up their advertising campaigns, and as a result of Brexit, Irish workers are the prime candidates.
The Irish Times reports that some machine operators are being offered double their wages in the UK with accommodation also supplied.
