Melanie Clark Pullen, born in Bray, has died at the age of 46 after a three-year battle with cancer.
The actress, who played Pauline Fowler's niece Mary Flaherty in Eastenders from 1997 to 1999, died on the 29th of March after undergoing radiotherapy treatment. Melanie, who leaves behind her husband Simon and three children, was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2019.
Most recently, Clark Pullen played the character Eileen in Aisling Bea's 2021 comedy This Way Up. She also made appearances on RTÉ’s Fair City and The Clinic. Paying tribute, the Eastenders Twitter account said: “We’re deeply saddened to hear that Melanie Clark Pullen has passed away. Our love and thoughts are with Melanie’s family and friends.”
