Garda Commissioner Drew Harris promoted 113 Gardaí to the rank of Sergeant at the end of last month, 16 of which were to the Eastern Region which includes Counties Wicklow and Wexford.
The promotions increased the numbers of Sergeants across all regions.
A restructuring plan of the force announced last year saw seven locations around the country; including Naas and Bray lose their status as divisional headquarters.
As a result, the stations no longer have their own chief superintendent.
The plan is based on population numbers, geography, projected growth and crime trends.
